Enhancing the architectural diversity of housing in Charlotte, North Carolina, The Tapestry offers an alternative to sprawling, single-use development. At seven stories tall with 52 units, the mid-rise multifamily residence offers a commercial storefront, co-working space, and a roof deck with sweeping views of Uptown.
The Tapestry is located within ½ mile from a light rail station and less than two miles from the city center, making it part of a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) District where streets are designed for people before cars. Joining the human-scaled urbanism movement, The Tapestry encourages mobility and connectivity.
The Tapestry’s woven-patterned façade builds upon the legacy of Asheville’s Black Mountain College, honoring the work of textile artist Anni Albers. Preserving Charlotte’s architectural identity, the structure itself is thoughtfully designed in the style of a historic mill building.
